Spring is upon us and it’s a great time to do a little “Spring Cleaning”!
Now I’m not talking about your shoe closet or the garage. I am talking about your head. Take some time to clear away the cobwebs in your mind and refresh your inner drive, mission, or purpose. We all need a little reboot here and there, so take some quiet time to answer the following questions and begin to feel more alive when you are reminded of what makes you tick.
Some of you already know what excites you. You know exactly what drives you and gets your juices flowing. Some of you are a little bit on the fence. You know what you love and enjoy but you are not sure it’s your life’s mission. Most likely because you are not sure if others would approve or support you. Then there are some of you who have no idea (so you think). I’ll bet you do know, you just need to do some investigating. So let’s play detective:
What are you excited about coming up in the next few weeks?
When was the last time you felt really inspired? What were you doing?
If money or the opinion of others wasn’t a factor, what would you spend your time doing?
What makes you feel joy? What makes you feel great about who you are? (Activities, events, projects, hobbies)
What are your natural talents and gifts?
At the end of your life what would you regret not fully doing?
Who inspires you? Teachers, athletes, holy/spiritual leaders, public figures?
When you die what do you want to be remembered for?
What thing or part of your life would you be absolutely devastated to let go of? (Let’s assume if you are a Mom you would answer “my children” and that is awesome, but I want you to dig a little bit deeper and get more personal) (Same thing for spouse)
Now take 2 minutes to write down words that move you.
Example: love, help, guide, inspire, give, teach,
As you can see I am trying to dig down into the core of your spirit and heart. Let’s find out what makes you feel fully alive so you can make that a bigger part of your life. Be strong, excited, and have a deep sense of purpose.
Having a direction, a sense of who you are, and what you stand for, can make you feel like you are here on this earth for a purpose and will definitely put a little “Spring” in your step.
